September has officially become the month of two things: Fall & Fashion. Put those two together and you’re left with a plethora of trends that are bound to translate from the World’s most famous runways to your very own walk to work. But what’s a girl to do when there are so many new trends to keep up with? That’s where we come in! Here, the hottest trends in jewelry for Fall/Winter 2016-2017:
Understated Jewelry
Classic pieces got an upgrade this season. Dries Van Noten introduced pearls in a new way by sending models down the runway dripping in multiple pearly rings and wearing single pearl brooches attached to neckties or pearl-topped pins pierced into chokers, a definite nod to the current 90s revival. Pearls were also seen paired with denim patches and military jackets for that vintage-meets-modern-day vibe. Earthy elements were also in the spotlight, as models showcased jewelry featuring natural, raw stones and hammered silver. It’s the old transformed into the now and cool, re-invented classics that are trendy now but that you’ll also wear for years to come. What’s not to love about that?!
Opulent adornments
Not for wallflowers, luxurious and lavish jewelry made to wear together are also a big hit this season. Think fingers “loaded” with rings paired with wrists clad in bracelets and a lavish necklace to round out the look. Too much isn’t too much this season, with the trend carrying over to accessories in the form of headbands and shoes. Thinking of adding some pizzaz to your jewelry collection this season? John Hardy offers opulence in spade with his Legend Macan collection.
Dangly Earrings
Sure, you’ve heard of dangly earrings before and may even have some rounding out your current jewelry collection, but this Fall and Winter the IT earrings get a slight makeover in a less is more way. Long and almost grazing shoulders, the hottest new earrings to wear come in a modern and minimalist design. Think geometric patterns like circles and squares, single big pearls hanging from delicate strands of silver and gold, and duster earrings. One trend we also noticed on the runways was donning only one long earring instead of a pair, or wearing a mismatched pair. A perfect trend to adopt when you drop one earring down the sink or just want to stand apart from the crowd.
